In Outlook 2000 and later, how do I use the "Bcc:" field?
In Outlook, the "Bcc:" (blind carbon copy) field allows you to address a message to multiple individuals or a distribution list without disclosing the recipients' addresses. The steps for using the "Bcc:" field vary slightly depending upon your version of Outlook and whether you're using Word as the email editor.
Outlook 2007 provides only Word as the email editor. The default setting for a new installation of Outlook 2002 or 2003 is to use Word as the email editor. However, you can change this using the directions in In Microsoft Outlook 2000 and later for Windows, how do I turn Wordmail on or off?
In Outlook 2007, to use the "Bcc:" field, open a new message. From the
Options Ribbon, select Show Bcc. The "Bcc:" field
will now appear.
If you are using Word as your email editor in Outlook 2002 or 2003,
to use the "Bcc:" field, open a new message. To the right of the
Options... button, click the downward pointing arrow and
select Bcc. The "Bcc:" field will now appear.
For Outlook 2000 and 2001, and for Outlook 2002 and 2003 without Word
as the email editor, to use the "Bcc:" field, open a new message. From
the View menu, select Bcc Field. The "Bcc:" field
should now appear.
