In Microsoft Word, how can I alter the appearance of formatted text?
To globally modify the way formatted text appears in a Microsoft Word document, use the Replace command. You can use the instructions below to make any number of formatting changes:
- Place the cursor at the beginning of the document.
- In Word 2007, on the
Hometab, click theReplacebutton. In earlier versions, from theEditmenu, selectReplace....
- Place your cursor in the "Find what:" field.
- Click
Format, and thenFont...(or whatever it is you want to change). If you do not seeFormatin the dialog box, clickMore(in Word v.X, 2004, and 2008 for Mac OS X, click the downward-pointing arrow) and it will appear.
- Select the formatting options you want to replace, and then
click
OK.
- Place your cursor in the "Replace with:" field.
- Click
Format, and thenFont...(or again, your preferred change).
- Select the formatting options you want, and then
click
OK.
- Click
Replace All.
