The first place to look for help is in the TeX man pages.

At Indiana University Bloomington, TeX is available as departmentally sponsored software in the UITS Windows Student Technology Centers. A page explaining many details of using TeX at IUB is available at: http://www.math.indiana.edu/resources/miktex.phtml

There is also the TeX Users Group (TUG), whose home page is available at: http://www.tug.org/ This page contains links to large amounts of TeX information.
